What Are You Going To Do When Obama Is Elected Tomorrow

Wait...I meant "if" Obama is elected tomorrow...doh It's still anybody's race...it all depends on who votes tomorrow and who doesn't. I will use my 18 ACORN sponsored votes for Ralph Nader.lol I would have voted McCain, but I don't like Palin; it's as simple as that. I've been on here raising hell with people that attack Obama; not because I think he should be President, but because I think most of the anti-Obama posts I have seen (from certain people) really don't make much sense from a political viewpoint to me (although a handful of you, who I won't name, do actually make sense. I hope you know who you are; if you respond, I will acknowledge you). Here's hoping our country can survive the next four years...

Hello myklj999 I plan to see the weeping and gnashing of teeth going on right here on myLot for the next couple of days. It ought to be quite a show! [Transdisc]
Thank you for the Best Response, myklj999. [Transdisc]

Same thing I would do if McCain is elected. I just don't really see much good happening in the next 4 years, regardless who wins tomorrow. Both candidates scare the crap out of me. All I can see to do is keep doing what I have been doing for the past 8 years. Things have to turn around, sooner or later. I just don't see it happening during this administration.......whoever wins. [thebohemianheart]
*Wiggles eyebrows* Mmmmm brownies! What's going to my head? Air, maybe? My brother keeps telling me I need to close the valve........whatever that means.lol [thebohemianheart]

go about my day like nothing has even changed I dont a rat's behind who is in office because they will be no different than the past idiots in office [zukepr]
because the star system is nothing but a joke [zukepr]

Hey Myk... Yes, "if"... because I *am* old enough to remember some of these same 2008 Obama people swearing 8 years ago that "the inventor of the internet" Al Gore whistle was going to be president so yep, still up in the air as far as I'm concerned. I know what you mean about the rhetoric around here with a few certain people. They don't answer questions. I personally think they had a GREAT chance to promote their guy on a forum like this (Obama I mean) and there was usually just ONE simple question and either I missed it or they could never answer it... just a very simple "what has he DONE? Why should we trust him?" I STILL have never heard a coherent answer to either question and now tomorrow will be too late. It seems to boil down to "well, he talks pretty." Go fig. sad [katiedoubleu]
I agree with you Katie. He talks pretty! But we now all have to learn together what he stands for REALLY, and WHO HE IS REALLY. [thedogshrink]

Well, I might not be one of the intelligent people who is anti-Obama, but I don't LIKE the man and I don't TRUST the man; never have, never will. Check this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NW12_OscRZg This shows that OBAMA got federal funds to pay for this project, but it doesn't seem like much was done to help HIS PEOPLE. Mice, roaches, etc., are running all over the place. This area FAILED a federal inspection, getting 11 points out of a possible 100. Is THAT the kind of SUPPORT Obama promises? Obama's campaign has declined comment on this area which apparently has seen no redistribution of wealth ... according to its residents. Check the video and judge for yourself. Would YOU like to be living in an area that Obama supported and got funding for next year at this time? Memo to self: I think death (mine) would be a better alternative to the uprising this country will see if the man is elected. (C) 2008 RJScott [rjscott]
I'm voting for Obama as I can't see either of the candidates doing any good. Here's to the KKK in my opinion. XD [Zeddzz]

Hallelujah! The election will be over tomorrow and I won't be getting any more stupid telephone calls or junk mailers telling me who and what I should vote for or against. Yippee! lol It is always anyone's race, as the attached picture shows clearly lol [fwidman]
Please do, Rosekitty. But, not the heels! Throw some old workboots at them lol [fwidman]

I will be thankful that the election is over. Then I will avoid myLot for about week so I don't have to deal with the influx of political posts/whining (in addition to what's already here). [nerdytina]
Oh, please don't avoid us for a week, nerdytina! You're barely here as it is. I will try to come up with a frivolous discussion for you (instead of my usual serious stuff) if you'll just give me a chance. [Transdisc]

Obama's ahead in the polls but I honestly wouldn't be surprised if McCain won in a landslide. Either way, tomorrow is my night off. I plan on throwing a few back and watching the fireworks. [Lee_Rites]

I'm not crazy about Palin myself... but Nader is nuts!! I plan on voting for McCain, and in all honesty, if Obama wins the election, I think I will leave the country, because I will be far too terrified of what will happen to us if he does win. I bet ya all the rich people will leave too, so they don't have to pay his idiotic tax plan... then where will the country be without the rich people's taxes? I can't wait for 4 years to go by and tell all the Obama supporters "I told you so... are you happy now?" after the economy has completely crumbled. [katsmeow1213]
MYK: You hit the nail on the head!!! "give everyone the minimum wage..." That's what the New Party wants -- they call it a "social wage". By the way, Obama is a member. [thedogshrink]

I was watching D.L. Hughley on CNN and Al Sharpton made a statement that I thought was quite relevant to the situation. "We'll be in the pilot's seat and we better know how to fly the plane or we never should have gotten on the plane in the first place." That may not be exact, but here's the link. http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/bestoftv/2008/11/02/dl.al.sharpton.cnn?iref=videosearch [irishidid]

Well, I have already done my civic duty and voted early. I stood in line for two hours to do so... It was a relief to finally toss out all of that clutter of junk mail information about pros and cons on the various propositions and local candidates that were also enclosed on the ballot along with the more featured Presidential race. I might go and flash my I voted sticker somewhere: Starbucks is offering a free cup of Coffee on Tuesday to customers who say they voted. Likewise, Krispy Kreme will give customers a doughnut in the shape of a star, with red, white and blue sprinkles, to anyone showing the traditional "I Voted" sticker at participating locations. Ben and Jerry's will be giving away a free scoop of ice cream from 5-8pm on Election Day too just to celebrate our wonderful Democracy. And I will be looking for a job as the Clinic I counseled at closed down in May and I am amoung the ranks of the unemployed. [whiteheron]

I'll be celebrating the fact that Bush and Cheney won't be there anymore. As for the phobic paranoiacs, I hope they can find some other obsession for the next four years. Or that myLot introduces an "ignore' button. I can't imagine that thorny person hysterically posting her hate all day every day for Obama's entire term. [MoonlightSerenade]
Moonlight, I haven't seen much of our little thorny friend lately and I was starting to fear she'd gone over the edge. I haven't been here as much myself due to the death of my mother, who is up there smiling down on the country she loved for almost 92 years. Annie [anniepa]

from a non American, I would be very very releived. I don't think he's perfect, but the alternative is truly terrifying. McCain and Palin terrify me. there's no way they should have any power over any other human being. [Galena]
Absolutely. Amen to that. And if Obama wins I wonder where all those republicans saying they will leave the country will go?? Besides Poland and Israel, or some third world countries, I really don't see where they will feel at home or be welcome. Since most of the rest of the world is pro Obama (because of Palin mostly) and all Western Europe and Canada is "socialist" (ewwww evil, my God can you believe this??), and the rest of the world don't think too highly of the USA thanks to the Bush administration... Hmm ok they can fit in Kyrgyzstan also ..maybe...bring a canadian flag. [fanfreluche]

This is none of my Business whatsoever, but I am very interested in the proceedings. I most certainly will be keeping my eye on the tv and my ear on the radio and I will be interested to see everyone's opinions after the event. The most interesting time is when they hold the endless Post Mortems (Mortii) after an election. The person who wins will certainly have an effect on Australia and what is happening with the war, being that we are allies. If I were an American citizen I honestly wouldn't know what to do. I quite like McCain, but I would want nothing to do with the animal slaughtering woman. I don't take to Obama and I honestly couldn't tell you why. I do know the loud booming voice gets on my nerves and if he wins, that voice is going to boom across the world for the next four years. I have seen documentaries about Ralph Nader and I like him. Controversial he may be, but I think he probably tells it like it is. In other words I believe he tells the truth. I like his policies. They make sense and I can quite see why the 'Greedy Ones' don't like him. I particularly like his Two State Solution re Israel and Palestine. I have always believed if this issue had been dealt with long ago, the tragic Twin Towers event might never have happened. [Anomalie]

We won't know tomorrow unless it is a landslide one way or the other. There will be challenges and finger pointing. There will be claims of falsification and tampering. It will, without a doubt be decided by the Courts not the people, unless it is a landslide and indisputable. There is just no way this country with all its racist BS will allow a Bi-racial man to take office. People always forget that Barack Obama is 1/2 White. He is a product of the United States of America. He is not Black except in our mixed up logic of a "one drop" theory. He is Bi-Racial. But all that being said if he wins there will be challenges. There will be teeth gnashing. There will be hand wringing. There will be foot stomping, not the good kind. White America is not ready for this one, not at all. Me, I will pour my self a Appletini sit back and watch the returns. My husband being a West Indian can't vote but he and I have a bet going as to what the CNN map will look like when it is all said and done. [lvaldean]
Amazing that you find me so. But that is fine. Your findings don't bother me or even offend me. [lvaldean]

Hi mkl, I'm almost afraid to ask, but why don't you like Sara Palin? There is nothing simple about this election. If you don't want to say why, that's ok. I was just curious. leenie [leenie50]
Why thank you, leenie! I appreciate your kindness. [thedogshrink]

I am thinking Canada is a beautiful country! The fact is, I really do not know for sure what Obama stands for. It depends on where he is actually standing at the time. A very big reason I would not vote for him, is his stance on redistribution of wealth. Another biggy that's closer to home (because I am poor) his view on gin ownership. It scares me when a politician wants to disarm America. I also do not think that Health care should be universal. If that is what you want, there are an awful lot of socialist countries out there. [laglen]
We absolutely MUST NOT give up our guns (even tho I don't own one) -- and especially in case it turns out that Obama's suggestion that we need a volunteer civilian security force is really as frightening as it sounds. I heard someone (an Obama supporter) on the news say that it just means that he wants a lot more people to start volunteering, but when pressed he could NOT explain the choice of words, which doesn't sound like just volunteer more. That is WHY we have a 2nd amendment, so that no government could EVER force their will on us. I do NOT intend to imply that we need guns against Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I mean that is why we are given the right to bear arms and we should never allow that right to be taken away. [thedogshrink]

I'll be watching and hoping for the best. Can we survive the next four years? I don't know. [pajamamama]

Gee, I don't know if I should respond or not. If you ignore me I'll know...LOL Tell you what, let's meet up in four years and have a beer amid the rubble. [sndcain36]
Thank you for not making a logical argument that I would not be able to refute.lol I'll bring the beer. [myklj999]

Hi myklj999, I wish you all the luck for your country and to the new president, i really hope it will be Obama as I don't like McCaine either, lets hope it will all work out well. Tamara [tamarafireheart]

You mean its over tomorrow?..I really doubt it..things will happen that will make us realise we are in for another 4 more scary years.. [Rosekitty]
things will happen that will make us realise we are in for another 4 more scary years.. Come here and I'll hold you and chase all the bad things away.happy [myklj999]

Honestly this election concerns me for many reasons. One I truly don't like either candidate that much - I would have greatly preferred Ron Paul, but that is no longer an option. **SIGH** But seriously, either way it goes there will probably be trouble to come. If, by some miracle, McCain pulls it off and wins, people will cry foul; if we are lucky it will not become another election legal battle. On the other hand, there have already been threats against Obama - heaven forbid anything should really happen; but it is cause for worry. Plus we really don't know that much about him. We also don't know if either of them will do any of the things they have promised in their campaigns - most candidates do not even try to keep their campaign promises. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens and hope for the best. [mehale]

Hi myklj! I will just pray that the country can survive the next four years too and hope that maybe things can somehow get a little bit better??? Althought I don't know how they can being that they are beyond being fixed at this point since the President moron we have now has had eight years to really screw them up! And I had nothing to do with putting that azzhole in office either time! I will be voting for Obama because I really can't stand McCain or Palin and I am basically a Democrat! Since the choices are what they are that is the way it will have to be! I will be voting and I will be praying for our country! We sure do need so serious prayers! [Opal26]

"If" Obama is elected tomorrow, I'm going to breath a sigh of relief that Palin isn't in line for the presidency. Not that I have some naive belief that Obama is going to fix all our problems... [dawnald]
I can handle that... [dawnald]

Me...I will rejoice! I can only hope and pray that he does for our government what he has done for voter apathy. I realize there are disagreements here politically and I'm not trying to stir the pot. I did read your discussion - but I chose to answer the title. rasp [jerzgirl]
Well rasp right back atcha! lol [myklj999]

Obama wont be elected. If so I will really honesty believe that american democracy is somewhat honest and some hope will have been restored in the system. It wont happen. :) [avidwhit]

MAybe rejoice and be happy about it i supposed. I have concerns with the republican candidates. first, McCain is too old to run, and if something happens to him then the VP would replace him. but Sarah Palin for me is too young, maybe compassionate but still inexperienced to run a big country. [Greeneagle24]

i feel so happy when obama wins. we gona do party [raja2020_2020]

I will go to sleep, wake up the next day and whistle a happy tune as I go about my day. But that all depends on whether a certain proposition is defeated here in California. I think James has already gotten to you about the end of the world in 2012. That's about four years right? [SaintAnne]
Hey, if that makes people vote against the proposition, I'm up for it. But I also think it's more important that people see the inequality here instead of the money the state would be getting. But again, if that makes them vote against Prop 8, spread the word! [SaintAnne]

I really wish that who ever gets elected does good not only for US but also for the rest of the world. I hope that there will be no MORE WARS in the world. I hope that peace reigns in the whole world. © ronaldinu 2008 [ronaldinu]

I DONOT think it will make a difference to me,i wont be voting anyways.hope i make sense.if i donot, then well.............. [riyasam]

Ok this is a tricky thing for me, as I don't vote.. ( ooh I can hear the boo's now ), but reason being... All the guys out there that are running for office ( lie ), and no matter what the public says " Well they will do whatever they want to". They are the one's making big bucks, ", and the rules, what about the little people? Do we not deserve some little morsel?, considering all that we pay in. " Ok no boo's here" , but if I really had my choice. I would re- elcect Clinton, never mind what he did on the side, as it did not make him less than of a man of our country He was good at what he did, and I liked him, and if I had my choice, I would of choose Hilery Clinton, as I feel her husband would be backing her, and helping her, and she would be making the right choices. i can't believe she backed down. I really think this whole election is a joke. To many people, that no doubt can't back up what they say, so Why as we the people need to vote?........ [irishmist]
We are in the shape we're in right now specifically because of Bill Clinton. He destroyed us morally, by getting away with lying before a grand jury and getting away with it. By having coke parties in the White House. By bombing an pharmaceutical plant to distract us from the Monica Lewinski affair. By having numerous affairs with other women besides Hillary (notice the correct spelling of her name), and by allowing a project we built and paid for, the Panama Canal, to be given away. Don't vote, for maybe if we all opted out, they would put off the election until after the financial crisis is over. But, that would leave George Bush and the neo-cons in control for an indefinite period of time. I don't think we want that. Truth is, that there is no way out of our dilemma, except to turn our hearts and our minds back to God. Think about it: what did any of these men ever do except gain power and then use it for their own personal benefit? When are we, as a people, going to realize that we get the government we deserve? Of far more importance is the make-up of Congress, on a national basis, and our state legistatures, and our school boards. And not all of the ones runninng are making the big bucks. Sarah Palin isn't rich. Yes, both McCain and Obama are, and certainly Joe Biden, but I bet if you use that as a standard, you won't find hardly anyone that isn't making an income above the average American. These are the achievers in our society, for we have already decided that money was the most important value we can have. We love money in this country, and therefore we have a government that is only about money, and getting more of it. If we would turn our hearts back to God, and put Him first, we'd eventually get out of this mess. Will we? Anyway, I'm voting for McCain, and every other Republican I can, except for Cornyn, who is running for the Senate here in Texas. The bum would do nothing to help my fiance in a child custody battle. She won anyway. [keymandan]

I don't know if my posts have made much sense from a political standpoint, but we are in unprecedented times here in the U.S. The economy is in the toilet, we have provoked major powers in our foreign policy, our esteemed President is morally depraved, with domestic problems, and last but not least, we have the poorest choices to ever be on the ballot - two senators that are both liberals. And no strong third candidate this year. The reason I have advocated McCain is because he's the better of two evils. Obama is, in his own words, going to side with the "Muslims" if things get ugly. Said we are no longer a Christian nation. Said he resents his mother's race (white). And Biden has offered the prospect of a higher income tax on the wealthy, which doesn't work and never has to produce the amount of money we now need to pay off the Federal debt. No matter who gets in, they're going to have to raise the amount of revenue the government receives, in order to maintain our standing as at least a legitimate nation with the rest of the world. The debtor serves the lender. As long as we remain in debt, we will continue to serve the lender, and I bet you can guess who the lenders are. The same ones that we just gave over $700 Billion to bail out. Did we do it to stay out of default on the money we borrowed through government T-Bills? Who and what persuaded Congress to go so completely against the will of the American people? If Obama wins, I'm going to go buy me some chickens, build a greenhouse, take all my money and convert it to gold and silver, try to sell this house and move out to the country. McCain is simply the only choice for a stable and lasting government that will keep this country from going into complete and total chaos. We can't make reparations for slavery! Whites were slaves themselves, in the form of indentured servants. That's my family tree. You can't hold us responsible for the actions of a very, very few wealthy plantation owners in the early to mid 1800's. [keymandan]

if i were american i vote Obama for a change in Americahappy [bombshell]

Today is the DAY! I will be celebrating with popcorn and beer, and enjoy watching the results pile up in Obama's favor. I wonder how Carl Rove is going to celebrate? He says Obama will win: Obama 338 and McCain 200. There's going to be a lot of soul searching by a lot of Republicans! [iriscot]

I'm gonna do the same thing that I would do if McCain were elected, go about my day like nothing has changed. Everything is such a mess right now and I don't believe that either of them can even start to make a dent in really changing things. I hope I am wrong but only time will tell if we will be able to survive one year forget about the three after that. [razcal2267]

No "if" my friend, OBAMA is going to win and will win with a good margin. McCain will be no where close to Obama. America needs Obama and will get Obama. Move over Republicans, the Democrats are here. What are we going to do? naturally we are going to celebrate. [mercuryman3a]

I know those like me who know of Obama's pro=abortion and same gender stance will mourn when they see the increase in abortions, the justices of the peaces forced to marry same genders together or lose their licenses, see the increased persecution of Christians turn from verbal disapproval or hauling off to jail, see the thousands of illegal immigrants get more privileges, see the universal health care bring not more health but lowering the standard so some drugs will no longer be allowed because it cannot be paid for, see the tax increase for the wealthy become the tax increase for the middle class as $200,000 goes down to $150,000 to $80,000 and to $40,000 because Obama needs the money to support his plans. Those who loved and voted for Obama will be extremely happy, until it hits them. [suspenseful]
Just maybe we will kill less Kids and innocents in Iraq and other middle east countries when the Democrats are in control. And maybe Bush and McCain's war won't last long enough to use my two 10 year old grandsons as "cannon fodder" fighting a war we can't win! I'm afraid some people have warped ideas of the consequences. I recall that the Hoover (Republican) administration with their trickle down system, was the cause of the depression and stock market collapse in October of 1929. Franklin Delano Roosevelt was elected as president in 1932 and took the Presidental seat in 1933. He turned things around and people got jobs and started to be able to feed their families again. If you weren't around during the 1930s, you have no idea what it was like. The repubs have been brainwashed and believe everything the RNC puts in front of them. [iriscot]

I was already out this morning & voted! I sure hope things go smoothly for others out there voting today... not too many gliches or problems. I was actually very surprised... I had prepared myself to be at my voting location for hours on end because of what I had already heard on the news this morning, however I was pleasantly surprised & I was actually in and out of from voting in about a total of five minutes! Thank goodness! It was pouring rain and I really wasn't looking forward to having to stand in line, possibly outside in the rain for forever! In response to what you mentioned in your post, I do not like Sarah Palin either. I do not believe she has what it takes to be vice-president of the United States of America! And, god forbid, if she ever had to take McCain's place one day, then I believe we would be in big trouble. Good luck to everyone who is going out to vote today & I hope your luck is as good as mine was and that you will not have to stand in line too long. Take care everyone. [koalatbs]

To answer your question. I'll go on living the same as I would no matter who is elected. What happens after whoever gets into office and starts to work is another matter, and then I'll just have to wait to see. You said you don't like Palin. Do you not like her politically or personally? [bestboy19]

The only thing I can say is that McCain is not a bad person I just don't care for him, and many people won't admit it but they just don't like Obama because he is african american. IDK if it scares white people or not, but people really need to get over themselves. Its a POLITICAL RACE not a racial one. I just don't like McCain because of Palin and the raising of taxes. Obama would be great for the country because of the Tax cuts which are greatly needed because of the current recession. We really don't need a rerun of the great depression. [lanina911]
This was the thing I haven't been able to understand all this time! How people say they are not for certain things that Obama will do, yet they vote for him. McCain was NOT planning to raise taxes. Obama was planning to raise taxes on SOME people. This is far from racial for me. I don't like Obama's record so far and I have a very hard time understanding how or even why he plans to change his direction and move more center, middle of the road, which is how he ran his campaign. He hasn't talked to us and told us why or how he decided to change his direction. So that makes me unable to trust him that he will stick to his campaign promises. Also, everything I've learned in school, read in the papers, heard on tv, read on the internet, for the most part says his plans will lead us into a deeper recession -- or worse. Most of all, I believe, as do many people, that even when we might disagree with him, McCain is always honest and direct -- and his opponents in the Senate have pretty much always said that too. I've seen Obama change direction, and outright lie, and that makes it impossible to trust him. I realize many Obama supporters think McCain lied, but I disagree, and before Obama came along, I dare say the majority of people would have said McCain is honest. Well those are some reasons I voted for McCain and I am very worried about where Obama will lead us. I pray that the things he's been saying in the last few days and during his victory speech are really and truly his heart and his ambition. [thedogshrink]

wait n see whts he goin to do with states n see whic alll countries get in to him 4 help.... [shivadony]

I do not understand attacks at all. Just state what is out there, without attacking anyone for their opinion. Anyway, whomever wins, I will get up, eat breakfast, play with my granddaughter, keep working on finishing my kitchen, etc. It will be another day for me for I live in a country that will not allow anyone to be a supreme ruler and that those who are running are all good Americans who think that they have the answers and want to do what they think is best for America. They are not terrorists, murderers, religious fanatics, etc. I will never agree, 100%, with any politician, but then I will never agree, 100% with anyone, so that is how life is. I believe that the person who was chosen by fate, will be the winner and my life will move in the direction it was meant to move, too. But, in case I am wrong, vote! lol [nanajanet]

Whether it's Obama or McCain who wins the election, I plan to pray a lot the next four years. I thought about doing a write-in vote, but I figured it would be a wasted vote since a write-in candidate can't possibly win. Therefore, I went ahead and voted for McCain because I feel he's the lesser of two evils. I'm also concerned about who's being elected to Congress. I think who's running Congress will make more of a difference to this country than the Presidency. I would wish there would be a balance in Congress, but so many people seem to be angry with the Republicans that I'm afraid they'll vote overwhelmingly for the Democrats. If the Democrats have a 60% majority (correct me if I'm wrong), the Republicans won't be able to use the filibuster to prevent the Democrats from leading us into Socialism. Have you ever heard this quote from an unknown author? "A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship. The average age of the world's greatest civilizations has been 200 years. Great nations rise and fall. The people go from bondage to spiritual truth, to great courage, from courage to liberty, from liberty to abundance, from abundance to selfishness, from selfishness to complacency, from complacency to apathy, from apathy to dependence, from dependence back again to bondage." Since too many people depend on government handouts, and are demanding more from the government instead of getting what they need through hard work, I'm afraid we're now at the dependency phase. It makes me think of what the Bolsheviks ballyhooed to stir up the common folks and bring on the Russian Revolution: THE WAR IS GOING BADLY (World War I), A CALL FOR PEACE, GET OUT OF THE WAR IMMEDIATELY, FOOD IS SCARCE, WE NEED DRASTIC CHANGE. Doesn't that sound almost identical to what the Democrats have been griping about for years now? Personally, I don't want to be a socialist nation. Socialism doesn't level people upward economically, it levels them down. Even China realized they needed Capitalism to grow their economy. [6precious102]

I gotta tell you. This is all so tough for me. I've been watching everything very closely and debate it every night with my family. We are a pretty politically conscious and caring family. I totally agree with you...Palin is SCARY!!! I'm voting more against someone than for someone. I think OBama is a great man and means well, but I fear for his economic policies and think his associations are shady. They are. I mean...tax in a time of economic struggle??? That number keeps going down. Pretty soon, there won't be small businesses to keep the rich employed to give half their salary to the poor!!! ughhh... So on character, experience, and economic policies, I'm McCain. But inspiration, some freaking diplomacy, having the world love us again, women's rights, and not getting Palin in office, I'm all Obama. Can someone please help me out here? I'm mad about this. I'm going to celebrate tonight in a Land of Liberals and not quite sure which way I'll be happy or rooting to win.... I sorta love Biden though. Hmmm.... [Thrask]
I will agree with you. Women's rights and no Palin in office. [Ruthep]

I'm gonna say, Yippee! Because I know that unless someone "forces" a vote re-count like they did when Gore actually won the election... America will be better off with Obama! [RhythmWalker1]

The same thing I am doing today. Being grateful that Bush's FINAL term will be over soon. My husband has been reading about Ted Nugent talking about running next time around if the country doesn't get better soon. Now that could be interesting. [Ruthep]
he'd be more pro Hunting than Palin shocked [jend80]

I think no matter who wins he will only have a one term Presidency. People will think that McCain really is too old in 4 more years. (Although Palin will be ready to run!) And once people figure out what Obama is really about, they won't want him for another term. [kenzie45230]

I will do the same thing I do every weekday. I'll get up, take the kids to school and go to work. Regardless of who wins the election, life continues and I must keep going. No matter who is elected, I plan to accept the people's choice and back the new President as I feel it our duty as citizen's to do so. Whether or not I agree with the decision will no longer be in my control, so it's time to step up,and work with the winner for a better America. [di1159]

I hope we do too....::shakes head:: I'm sick of it personally. I voted for Obama. He's the only choice in this group. I dislike Palin and hate the idea of her being President if McCain croaks in office. That's my thinking on it. Kash [Kashigurl]

When the Obama/Biden ticket is declared the winner at about 11:00 pm EST tonight I will burst into a chorus of "Happy Days Are Here Again". I just might get some pans out to bang like people did in the old days. How long either of the above continues depends on how my cats react because they're used to a fairly quiet house and may get scared to death. I'll celebrate the fact that our long national nightmare is finally almost over! I'll celebrate the fact that, with any luck at all, I'll never have to listen to Sarah Palin's shrieking, shrill voice again! Most importantly, I'll celebrate the fact that there will finally be someone in the White House who shares my values. We'll have a President and a Vice President with good judgment and with the knowledge and intellectual curiosity to make this great country as great as it can be instead of the laughing stock of the world and who knows that without the middle class this economy can never grow again and return the American Dream to every American, not just the top 5 or 10% income earners. This is the most excited I've been about a Presidential election and ticket for many years. You naysayers can make fun of "HOPE" all you want, but without hope, what do we have? Annie [anniepa]
Just you being nuts huh? I am glad that they were able to join in your celebrating. Fireworks would have sent me into hiding. [razcal2267]

I'll drink to that. I voted for Obama, but I know whoever gets it is going to have a huge amount of work to do during his term. The economy is a mess, the housing industry is a mess. The USA is a mess and the biggest mess is in the government. There is a lot of crap in government. It needs cleaned up. The people in the white house that have nothing really to do, need to be fired, save a few million dollars!! [freefogging]

Well, it's official now. I can only say that I hope and pray that President-elect Barack Obama will keep his promise of being centrist and listening especially when we disagree with him. I just don't see it in his record so far. I believe in the future, people will see that Sarah Palin is NOT the ditzy bad egg they assume she is. And I hope and pray that we will also see that Obama is also NOT the naive, or cunning leftist that we assume. [thedogshrink]
Dog, I wouldn't hold my breath for that LAST one, were I you.... Maggiepie [Maggiepie]

What will we do now? Same things we do EVERY day. Eat, sleep, marry, have & rear kids. Play ball. Work. Try to pay bills (though our "Prez" has PROMISED to make that a lot harder--as when he makes energy costs "skyrocket"). And fight the good fight. Besides, before long the folks that bought into his lies will see how badly they've fouled up, & it will change again in 4 years. What, did you think we would stamp our iddle foot & screech that stupid Hollyweird line, "I'm leaving the US & I'll NEVER come back?" (I wish they'd KEEP that promise....[eye roll]) No, the whole beauty of our system IS that we have a PEACEFUL changeover every 4 years, unlike 3rd world countries or dictatorships. That's one of the MAIN THINGS that singles us out from the others. I cannot respect the anti-Christian, lying Socialist now claiming the White House, but unlike Al Gore, I'm not an idiot, & will not try to pretend some miscounted votes (I doubt the Acornites could be THAT plentiful) "stole" the election. No, the simple fact is the media helped him hide his true nature, & now we're stuck with him for awhile. I just feel sorriest for the real middle class, who DIDN'T vote for him, & who will now be shafted. ONE THING I DO NOT =EVER= WANT TO HEAR AGAIN, however, is that this is a "racist" country. IF that were TRUE, Obama COULD NOT have been elected. There just ARE NOT enough black people to do it without HUGE numbers of WHITES (however uninformed) voting for him. SO, BLACK bigots? STFU. ESPECIALLY YOU, "Rev." Wright. Maggiepie [Maggiepie]
SSSSNNNNNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIFFFF!!! Ahhhh....SMELL the irony..... Maggiepie [Maggiepie]

obama wins.... i have to say congratulation to him and god bless American! [xialinye]
Yes, GOD BLESS AMERICA -- and God bless you, too! [thedogshrink]

He was elected. He made it through the rumors, unfounded fears, and untruths. America came together in great numbers. Young people, older people who had never voted before, of all colors, religions, and political standings came together and changed our history once again. I know the road is going to be long, hard, with steep hills, but I believe he will actually TRY his best to change things for the better for our country. And I think when all is said and done (and voluntary ignorance is set aside), what will make this outcome of the election such an awesome thing will be that humans beings actually voted into the office of President of the United States, a man they believed would work for all of America...... and he happens to be (wow!!) black!!!! I am starting to believe, once again, that there is hope for us a human beings after all. :-) [quinnkl]

I hope the next campaign season is not as long, as I don't think it's good for the country.. merely widens the gulf.. [flowerchilde]

Unless there's a problem with the Time Continuum, I expect that there will not be a second election tomorrow and life will go on as Barrack assists the Dubya in getting all of his belongings into the moving vans. LOL! [mrghill]
