This rant has been building for a little while now but things really came to a head for me. Exactly what it is that dropped that final straw is pretty hard to say, pick a straw, any straw.
Over the last 12 years, exponentialy each election, I have watched my country change in ways I never imagined. I have watched things happen I never dreamed possible in our government, and with as little trust as I have always had in them, that is saying a lot. Clinton, Bush, and now Obama, all of them, have steepened the slope towards an america that our founders would have killed and shed blood to prevent from ever seeing the light of day. And yet here we are now standing on a ledge like a bunch of idiotic blind lemmings, ready to follow the president and congress right over it. This last election has 10 fold multiplied the race towards the things our founders found detestable and out right dangerous to anything they called liberty. We are going from a constitutional republic to an elitist parlimentary aristocrocy.
We have an unprotected border to our south with terrorists groups running uninhibited while our border patrol harasses american citizens traveling with in their own soviern states.
We have a congress that just passed a spending bill that will add over a trillion dollars (after interest) to our debt with out even reading it, all the while the congress and administration touting it as a crowning achievment and denying any american citizen is opposed to it, passed in a blitz campaign of fear mongering that rivaled of Bush's ranting over the need for the patriot act.
We have a bill being introduced that will require fingerprinting and medical database recording for gun ownership and We have an Atorney General who is nororious for supporting such tyrinical gun control measures.
We have a tax cheat running the treasury department, the one who was supposed to be so good at what he does we could over look that little misgiving, the only one who could lead the economy in this dire time. Yeh, he turned out to be an eloquent genious didn't he.
We have the continuing mantra "we won, so we make the plan" (wow, dictate much?) from congressional leaders and even the president.
We have continuing federal regulations, held over from the last prince in the white house and a host of new ones stomping all over states rights and exponentialy growing the rabid monster that our federal government has become.
Durring the inauguration, we had military policing in our capitol (that's ilegal by the way) in numbers thatexceed the troop levels we have in afghanistan.
We have the reemergence of the first amendment desolation act (aka "the fairness doctrine) poised to re emerge, to silence oposition.
I could fill an entire forum with a list but you get my drift.
Wake the fack up people, your country is being torn out from under you!
Take it back . By screaming at legislators or by force if nessesary, take it back .
When it inevitably starts, and it will, what side will you be on?

Writing Congress will not be of any help. The vast majority of congressmen, as well as anyone related to the government, is in on the issue. Those that aren't are simply pawns in their conspiracy and are being used. They have little to no influence. Try digging around for info on the North American Union. The evidence can be found, if you search around. I myself have read a secret document that wasn't supposed to get around to anyone. I won't say what it was, but it sealed my already concrete belief in the conspiracy. Just do some digging for stuff on the North American Union and Amero and various other related things. Maybe so, but this country is far more warped than most others, and it's also a LOT younger than most others by comparison. You say if you don't like the country to leave, but that's not exactly possible for people like me who are on limited income and struggle to save money. It's difficult now even for the average working person, so just think what it's like for someone living on the pittence the government gives. Maybe they should've taken some of the money out of the stimulus package and raised benefits for those on them, but that's just the point. They don't really care. They just want power and control. President Obama is not an American citizen,his legal team in California last week filed a motion saying the defended (Barack Obama) refuses to prove his United States citizenship. 250,000 Americans have signed petitions another 60,000 mailed letter demanding prove Obama is an American citizen to the supreme court. Congress is being sued due to their lack of proper vetting of Barack Obama and the democrats protecting him knowing he is not an American citizen. To end the new government nightmare Barack Obama has to be brought down over him not being an American citizen. People need to contact good reliable news outfits that actually report the news and pressure them to speak out because this actually is the biggest story in the history of the United States a President by fraud. Our biggest problem currently (well a combination) is that we're heading into a depression and our esteemed elected house and senate members want to make it really about their special interests. How many of them actually lived through that time? We had for the last 16 years let Wall Street get away with things that have undermined our economy. I have a question. I am from Iowa and I have been looking at the states that have declared and the ones that are planning. Iowa is not one of them. I have relatives in the states of both the planned and declared. Our relatives are saying we need to move out of Iowa pronto before it is to late. What do they mean? I believe in the right to bear arms, my family is all military and our son is in China and wont come home. Our son was in Iraq and come back messed up and really not happy with his country. He has been in China ever since. He said our own military is going to be used against us...combat trained troops to bring order back from cival unrest. Our son told us to get out of the city and move to where we could grow our own food if necessary. He was in Iraq at invasion and as soon as his time with the army was up he moved to China. He has never came home since. What happens to the states that have declared or are planning compared to states like Iowa? Very good thread. Americans have got to start looking at 3rd party candidates. Like mindless lemmings, they keep voting republican or democrat. There are many more options. I voted libertarian this year, Bob Barr. If America can get enough Libertarians in office, we can really clean house, reduce government down to what it should be. Most Americans play into the hands of both parties by voting away the rights of their fellow citizens in ballot initiatives and referendums. They support bans, new safety laws, they insist on telling other people how to raise thier children, they continue to send their children to public school (where the kids are being indoctrinated into a liberal, socialist, marxist agenda). I absolutely agree. Politics in the US is like pro wrestling nowadays. People are rooting for one side or the other, but it doesn't matter who wins. Behind the scenes it's the promoters who are really winning. You are right, a third party is the answer, it has to happen big and fast, too. I am of the opinion that this started with FDR and his leading us down the road to socialism. We are becoming a welfare country which means more dependency on the federal government. I believe the teacher's union (NEA) has systematically dumbed down our educational system in order to keep most future voters ignorant as to what the government is doing to us because we no long can read or reason and care more about what's happening in the entertainment world than what's happening to us by the Federal government. By keeping people ignorant, they can manipulate both the voters and Congress. Instead of realizing the value of having a work ethics and the value of capitalism, these uneducated people continually reelect Representatives and Senators that promise them more handouts for not working while taking away more of the voters liberties. I believe the influx of illegals being allowed to stay here, take advantage to social services and taking jobs that should go to US citizens without having to pay income taxes because they're paid under the table has contributed to the financial burden state governments are suffering. I'm irritated that there are behaviors that some of us consider to be immoral being forced down our throats and that our tax dollars are being spent on smut. I believe we should completely get rid of the Federal Income tax and replace it with a consumption tax. This would mean that anyone who makes a purchase within the United States, whether a US citizen or not, is paying into our tax system. That way illegals would no long get social services for free. I'm tired of "the experts" telling me what I can eat or smoke or wear or any of the other "we know what's best for you" restrictions. There are probably a lot of factors that have led us to where we are today, but I think the one that has really sealed our fate is when the people learned they could vote themselves a largess from the national treasury. The chances of changing that are slim because too many are not educated well enough to know the harm it has done. They have learned to depend on that largess rather than themselves and their ability to achieve. When the government brought in welfare, they, in effect said, "you no longer have to be responsible, we'll be responsible for you." Have they been responsible? NO! And why should they be? They know they can introduce a bill that will raise our taxes, in order to get more money. Do we do anything about it other than complain? All we do is continue to reelect the same people and say it's the other states representatives who need to go when it is all of them who are at fault. Even if we could get rid of everyone in Washington, too many people have learned to expect some sort of handout from the government. They never stop to think or even care that a fellow citizen is paying for their handout. Greed, selfishness, and lack of responsibility are like "The Man Who Came To Dinner". We've got it and we don't know how to get rid of it. Do we care enough about the future of our country to give up our own handouts, because it's not just welfare. [bestboy19]
