But he came in third place. Do I win anything?
Democrats now control the Senate, the House and the Presidency.
So I guess we can blame everything on them now, right?
Yeah, I voted for Nader.
But congratulations to Mr. Obama...and good luck.
You're gonna need it.

I'd like to take this moment to thank you, myklj999, for your contributions to the entire campaign as played out on myLot. I have enjoyed your points of view and appreciate you sharing them. [Transdisc]
Well...I couldn't have asked to win anything better than what you said just then Trans. Thank you.happy [myklj999]
Yes Obama is going to need a lot of luck. Personally, I think anyone who runs for President has to be a tad nuts in the first place as there is so much cleaning up to do in and for our country's problems [pyewacket]
Thank you for the brhappy [pyewacket]
I can't wait to see his plan of attack. What a mess he has on his hands. I hope he will get right to work and not get too caught up in the significance of all that has happened with this election. [makingpots]
My guy lost Also.sad I hope that Mr Obama does really well. Looking forward to seeing what changes will take place, and if they are really what I call better or not!glare [LouiseKnittel]
Your guy always loses- LOL! Joe the Plumber had a better shot. Anyway, all I can say is "Congrats to Mr. Karl Marx...Oops, I mean Obama. I hope America is ready for a socialist state. That is what we are in for. The funny thing is I wanted him initially to win until I did my research and put both candidates stats side by side. I was shocked to find out that my taxes will nearly double if Obama does make the "changes" he promised. Needless to say, that changed my mind about him. Too bad, many other Americans were snowballed by him. It's a sad day in America. People think this country is bad now- check us out in two years. It's going to get a lot worse. [skinnychick]
myklj, I believe you won back all of the rights and priviledges of being an American! You participated. Although your guy came in third place, your vote counted and voice was heard. Obama has inherited a mess, and how he handles it will probably be his legacy. He is surely going to need all the good luck, and all of his skills to lead this country. He may have one of the most liberal voting records in the Senate, but it is still Congress that passes the bills. He will only sign them. He will not be, nor will have the ease, President Bush has had in getting his 'agenda' pushed into law. And after the failure of "compassionate conservatism" of the past eight years, we need a grain of liberalism. We ARE our brothers' keepers. [celticrogue]
You know if you had preferential voting in America then he might have had a chance. Then again he might not. It is hard to change old ways. We have this system in Australia and it gives our minor parties a chance. If the person you vote for does not get enough votes then your vote goes to the next person on your preferences. If you had a system like that then more people could vote for parties other than the main two because even if they don't win they show a protest vote and your vote is not lost as it goes to the next preference. I vote green and give my preference to the Labor party so I cannot lose as I support both parties and my vote does not get wasted by voting for a party that cannot win and if enough people do this then the minor party can win and it gives the major parties a big shake up. [sharra1]
Yes, he is going to need a lot of luck. Our country is currently a mess. Let's hope that Obama can and does bring about the "change for the better" that he promised. I'm a bit skeptical, but hopeful. [betsyraeduke]
Too bad it wasn't Nader's best showing. I really like the guy although I disagree with him on most issues. I really wish the networks would give the third party guys a little airtime instead of just telling us who the front runners are. [Taskr36]
This is definitely going to be one heck of a challenge for Obama as he is entering the Presidency with a lot of issues to clean up and there will be a long and hard road ahead of him. Any problems that occur from this point forward will be blamed on him and his administration even though many of these issues are global market forces in general and not directly attributed to him at all. But such is the price you pay as President I guess! I wish him every success and I hope most of all that his appointment will trigger a whole new positive outlook in the American people and around the world because it is faith and energy of us all that will make things right sooner rather than later. [James72]
I was listening to one commentator say that the last little kids in the White House belonged to JFK. I pray that these kids miss what John's kids got a plateful of. It was a stirring speech. But now it's down to work. Barak... You promised change. Show me. [BCMike]
Mike..I saw that too, but actually there was Chelsea Clinton at 12, and Amy Carter..i think 8..so these two came out ok and they are excluded from all the junk there Fathers see..so wonder why they feel Obama's kids will have it rough? [Rosekitty]
Your guy lost but isn't it great that you got to cast your vote? I love election day. It is great to be an American. My kids were even excited about the election. Great little Americans. [Lee_Rites]
..it all depends on who the media blames things on.. [flowerchilde]
In my opinion, third parties are gonna grow from the grassroots. Once third party members get into local government more, then into the legislature, you are going to start seeing them appointed to the cabinet. There's a better chance of that in an Obama presidency, but I doubt four or eight years is long enough. Luck isn't the half of it. It's going to be a lot of work, a mess is awaiting. I do trust Obama to pick a good cabinet, because he's had good advisors. [MoonlightSerenade]
Hi myklj999, Yes, congratulations to Mr. Obama for winning and he will have to clean up Bushe's mess now and I wish him all the luck, I hope he will do a better job of it then the last one and yes I agree he will need all the luck. Tamara [tamarafireheart]
Hi myklj!~ WTF! Did you really vote for Nader? Did you really waste the vote? You are kidding right? I thought you couldn't vote? Oh whatever! I voted for the winner! I'm doing the happy dance still! I've been doing the happy dance since last night! I am very proud to be a part of something so amazing and wonderful! I have seen so many miserable things happen in my lifetime that this was really incredible! I lived through the deaths of JFK, RFK, MLK, 9/11, Nixon and so much more! This was something that was never supposed to happen during my lifetime and it did! So I am truly proud and happy to say that I voted for the new President Barack Obama! [Opal26]
Yes, I voted for Nader and no, it wasn't a "wasted" vote. It counted towards the person I voted for; how can that be wasted? The are other parties besides Democrat and Republican, even though most Americans don't seem to know this. Almost half a million people agreed with my vote last time I looked. [myklj999]
Hello myjkj, sorry to hear that your guy has lost. No you cannot blame everything on them but you know they will be making their fair of mistakes as well. Knowing us humans aren't prefect. Myself wish them all the best too.happy [kerriannc]
um you win the satisfaction of having done the right thing? [dawnald]
Hope to hear much from you in the months to come. I would have voted for Nader, I have in the past but I realize that is a wasted Vote, so I gave mine to Obama. [savypat]
Oh crap Mike, if we think that B.O. is going use luck to insert the tax plan up our tailpipes I'll just grap my ankles now and let's get this thing over with. [gitfiddleplayer]
Michael..you win the respect of me for casting your vote for whomever you wanted with no one saying you better not.. [Rosekitty]
