Are people beginning to waken up? Or do you think it is just a fluke?
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 32% of the nation's voters now Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. Thirty-four percent (34%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -2. That's the President's lowest rating to date and the first time the Presidential Approval Index has fallen below zero for Obama.

Hi Friend, I think it is premature to judge the President in how he is handling the country right now. There are big issues to be resolved and the recession has put more burden to the government. President Obama is in the process of pinpointing the priority problems and one man could not solve these gigantic conflicts single handedly. Regardswub [WATARIKENJI]
"Premature?!" ?????????!?!??? Over 10 TRILLION bucks & one Constitution shredded too LATE, I say! angryangryangry Maggiepie [Maggiepie]
"Are people beginning to waken up? Or do you think it is just a fluke?" I hope they're beginning to wake up and wipe the sleep from their eyes. I'm thinking of starting a club for those with voter's remorse. lol I think they'll need a place to vent and console each other. Poor smucks. [piasabird]
I don't think the voters who put him into office really understood that 'hopes and dreams' can't make up for lack of experience. [AmbiePam]
It is very easy to talk about change, and about fixing things, but I am sure it is not happening, no matter how much some people talk. [GardenGerty]
That's a breath of fresh air to me. I do hope people are waking up and seeing what he is and what he's doing to our nation. I know there are quite a few left who believe in him, but maybe when it gets down where they live, they'll understand. [peavey]
We can only hope people are waking up. This idiot needs to be impeached before he sinks this country beyond repair! There are people that say 'he can't fix everything in a day'. How about putting ANYTHING good in motion?! He's blown TRILLIONS of dolalrs 'fixing the economy; but people are still losing jobs. the only ones who have been helped by this dingbat are the rich fatcats that gave to his campaign fund. He's working on healthcare. GOD HELP US! You thought it cost alot before, wait until it's free! And since everyone will have healthcare (supposedly) does that mean the increase in cigarrette taxes will be reversed because the 'poor kids the increased revenue would help get insurance' would now HAVE insurance? We don't need a LIAR in the White House. We need a LEADER! [Ramoth]
Jen, hell I'd dig up Reagan & put HIM in the Oval Orifice. He couldn't possibly do any worse than that far-left twit! By the way, did anyone catch my call to Mark Steyn (substituting for Rush) today? I was the one who talked about spending Obama's mini-bailout (in my Social Security check) on things such as pro-life, pro-military, family values causes! $250 bucks, Obama, TAKE THAT! LOL!! Maggiepie [Maggiepie]
This is how it always works, no real conclusions can be made. I'm just glad we have a reasonable man as president with the mess in Iran going on now. Maybe we should have just let the Republican's win to satisfy the extreme right here in the U.S. and forget about Democracy. [N4life]
Not so, rklay. I know certain presidents have honestly cared about people. And it isn't just the "rich" Obama cares about, what HE primarily concerns himself with is POWER. As in, HE gets to have it--you don't. Thus I hide my weapons. You can bet your last "Amero" that if those poor people dying in the Tehran streets had weapons, we'd be seeing a totally different story on TV & the net. But in a short while, we can kiss our guns goodbye...unless we hide them. Maggiepie [Maggiepie]
Was there ever a honeymoon according to the Fox/Rasmussen poll? I really don't place a whole lot of importance in opinion polls at this point in an Administration. With everything going on in the nation and the world today you could get a different answer from the same person from one hour to the next. Annie [anniepa]
Of course there was a honeymoon. You would have seen that if you'd clicked the link. There's a simple graphic showing that when he started about 44% strongly approved and only 16% strongly dissaproved giving him an approval index of 28. As his political agenda has progressed his numbers have consistently gone down. The stimulus was the first big hit to his approval and while he was able to bring it back up with a few speeches, those gains were only temporary. Here is a clear list of the numbers and how they have progressed. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/obama_approval_index_history [Taskr36]
you've had worse presidents girl. yes i think he's overated too but lets face it it could be much worse [jb78000]
Maters, actually he is not "our President." He's been perfectly clear that he is here only for the far left, period. If you don't believe it, just look what happened with ABC, which is now state-run media. He'll take a lot of questions...but no Conservatives need apply. And it's only a matter of time 'til he gets SOME version of the "Fairness Doctrine" through Congress. Some folks have already been censored. Kiss free speech goodbye...unless you're agreeing with Himself. Even better, praising Himself. Maggiepie [Maggiepie]
I expected this to happen, and I think it would happen no matter who was elected. It is like the old Roman days when the people demanded Bread and Games to the extent that the society was ruined. It is interesting to watch this process. Thanks for posting it. [GardenGerty]
nice one! a sensible comment, yay! [jb78000]
This guy is very dangerous, all you gotta do is look who mentored him thru his youth and watch the events unfold before our eyes. You all thought Bush spent meaningless, what gives this guy the right to quadruple the spending with pork at that. [foursox212]
U guys sound dangerous, lot of hate flying around...chill out! [N4life]
This is usually the problem. People tend to be judges instead of followers. Yes it is true that we vote for our leaders, but we do not just sit around waiting for the results that our chosen or elected one would bring. It is or responsibility to do our share, and then it is also our responsibility to support our choice up to the end. People always have this tendency to judge things, and while still in the process, people start talking and concluding. And then in the end, if the elected choice brings in good results, people will say that they made the wise choice. What people fail to realize is that after electing the leader, they themselves are the ones adding on to the difficulties that their choice has to bear. I have learned from this, and i have made my choice to just support him and wait for him to bring results. If it is a negative choice, then there will be no re-elction votes from me. [safejunk]
This is a great picture of what a curse popularity is in the long run. When MTV, BET, VH1 and your favorite radio programs play that catchy song to death, you can't wait to rush out and buy the album. While you're still addicted to the one song, you're singing it, telling your friends how great Artist X is, and that he's the best thing since blonde strippers named Candy! And since your friends agree, you're in good company. This makes you like Artist X even more! It's cool to be in the populous. Who wants to sit alone at the lunch table, even as adults? But then you start listening to the rest of Arist X's album and seeing him act a fool on award shows, and go off on homeless people asking him for change, etc. Your opinion of him starts to fade. Yeah, that song is still stuck in your head, but you no longer talk about Artist X with your friends. Surprisingly, they don't bring him up either. By the time Artist Y arrives on the scene, X is just a memory, and the show starts all over. I've said this from day one: People didn't/don't love Obama because he's the bringer of hope, wisdom, love and change. They love him because they feel he's all things to THEM, personally. He's THEIR Obama. Never before in history, or at least in my 29 years, has their been a person able to effect such emotion in people by telling them exactly what they wanted to hear. Even if you were anti-Obama, you'd be hard-pressed to actually criticize the man when he spoke. You'd have to be very picky to find something wrong with his mainstream rhetoric. But now, people are realizing that Obama isn't this magical figure. He isn't THEIR Obama, he's his own Obama; a man that will do what he wants, with or without YOU. This breaks people's hearts. So far, we're seeing people turn on his policies and not the man. But since, as a politician, policy IS the man, it's only a matter of time. He can't give himself up to everyone. And you know what, it's nobody's fault but those who put their faith in him. If people would have seen him as just a man who wanted to be America's President to change the country into how he thought it should run, they wouldn't be feeling left out now. Instead, they put him up on an infallible pedastal, held him above other humans and declared him a God-like figure. No one can live up to that. There are about 50 million people in America who are in desperate need of some more self-confidence. Instead of putting your faith into someone else to help YOU, why don't you try to help yourself? At least then you may see a salesman for what he is: a guy trying to sell you something. My brother was joking around with me about Obama last week. He's a devout atheist and I'm agnostic. He's also a diehard conservative on most issues concerning the economy. He said, "If these Obama voters just believed in the little red bible Jesus, they wouldn't have had to create their own just to find out you don't need a cross to kill him." Take it for what you will, but it was so true that I couldn't even bring myself to laugh at it. Our shared theory is that everybody needs "Jesus"; that's why he was created. So far, nobody's been able to prove that they don't. :-) [matersfish]
piasabird It is because of Obama being just like Hitler and knowing how to manipulate the masses that I detest him so much. I guess people would never believe that I am Democrat but preferred to vote for anyone except Barack Adolph Hussein Obama! [whiteheather39]
All Obama has ever done is what someone else has suggested. He is too stupid to come up with an idea of his own. If he did come up with a plan he would be too cautious to put it into action afraid it would fail and take away a little of his glory. I sure hope people that voted for that sucker are happy. I also hope enough of the people still have the good sense to vote him out of office with only one term. If we are not real careful that will be more than this nation can stand. Art [Arkie69]
You give Obama a year or two and you will have a hard time finding anyone that will admit they voted for him. What really makes me mad is the fact the joker can spend one term in the White House and then our hard earned tax dollars will pay him a huge retirement for the rest of his life. The Fed and the State both take a huge cut right off the top of our income. This needs to change. Even if it did change it wouldn't be long until they would be getting even more from us some other way. The only way to ever make any changes that will actually help the people is to first changed our entire form of government. Our form of government allows everyone and their dog to rob us blind any time they want to. And our government sits on their hands and allows it. This has got to change or this whole nation and all her people are going down the tube. We are entering into run away inflation and you better get ready for it. The price of everything is very soon going through the roof. We have already had a little taste of it with the gasoline and now the tobacco. Health care has more than doubled in the past few years. I finally found out the other day what the bill was on the last 8 days my wife was in the hospital in 2005 before she died. Those 8 days alone was $175,000. That is almost $22,000 a day. It won't be long before that figure will double. We cannot allow things like this to run free wherever they want to go. They must be controlled. What ever form of government we have they need to step up and do the job we are paying them to do. Art [Arkie69]
Sooner or later more and more people will realize our nation is being spent into collapse and that Obama is just another disconnected political leader that was rammed down our throats by the main stream media. [K46620]
AMEN! Very well said! [K46620]
I would think that many people, not all though, have understood that most recessions recover in a time span. Obama made a major play that he was going to shorten this time span, and repair everything. Clearly that has not happened. People were idiotically all for the bailouts and stimulus under the theory that it would cause a quick prompt recovery. Now without the "quick prompt part" many are starting to wonder if just maybe they made a mistake. $10 Trillion is a lot of money to repay for something that really didn't seem to help. [andy77e]
I really really hope so, Heather. Remember when 0bama blasted McCain for suggesting that health benefits be taxed? Well now Congress led by Ted Kennedy is talking about taxing health benefits and 0bama is open to it. But check it: union members would be exempt. So someone go ahead and tell me once again that 0bama isn't corrupt....or better yet make some idiotic comment about the "extreme right" to deflect from the facts. [sndcain36]
It's all so utterly ridiculous. And not the part about him doing it; everyone not love drunk knew it was coming. I'm talking about the fact that some still make excuses and try to explain these things away as "good for America in the long run." Huh? And I just heard today that, since Obama's first stimulus injection didn't work, he was going to try another economic stimulus injection to create jobs. My first thought was, "Well, if 100% of the insane amount of money had been stimulus in the first place, MORE spending may have been avoided." Obama and his plan on the pork reminded me of all the times I used to play Tecmo Super Bowl with my friend on Nintendo. He'd always say, "Okay, I'm not throwing anymore deep passes," (deep passes were like cheating on the game lol) but then he'd throw another and say, "I meant starting NOW!" And on and on it would go... [matersfish]
I think the people who have sense are waking up. The trouble is that the Democrats are allowing Obama more leeway and even if he decides to make himself dictator of all the United States, supreme ruler of all he surveys, they will still think that he is the best. Hate to say it, but it seems like what has been preached for the last ten or so years, that the black guy can always save us, the black guy is right even though he is only half black and even though he is not descended from the slaves brought over from Africa to the North American continent. It is part of the savior complex based on race rather then ability. So they give him more leewawy then they did Bush or any former presidents. Why I doubt that Roosevelt who of course had the Second World War to contend with, or Kennedy who had to live through the Cold War and the Cuban Crisis would have gotten away with changing America as Obama intends to do. [suspenseful]
What hurts me is that my husband and some of mg in-laws seem to think that Obama is a great guy and my husband said the only reason I do not like him is because Obama is black. Well I guess Canadians are falling for that savior routine as well. [suspenseful]
I REEEEEALLLLLY hope people are beginning to wake up - wouldn't that be wonderful? We should impeach him before the entire country goes to hell...we are well on our way. He has been in office for such a short time and every one of his "changes" has been detrimental to society as we know it. Mr. Obama - hope is NOT a strategy! We need a strong leader, one that can make a wise decision and stick to it! [jen_barre]
This happens to every president [General_Spacey]
Yeah, they are beginning to realized that what we warned them of is all true, but now it's too late. He's shredding the Constitution, & we now live in the U.S.S.A., i.e., the United Socialist States of America. My life will be a dim memory before our country recovers, IF it can. Not that I'm going down without a fight, but I'm convinced we lack the knowledge & grit to stop his ilk any more. Long live the Nanny State! Papers, please. Maggiepie [Maggiepie]
hitler was an evil and hate filled piece of work. whether or not you agree with him obama is not the same. i wouldn't have compared bush to hitler either, it's just not the same league. i also think all these comparisons to hitler diminish one of the worst episodes of human history [jb78000]
JUst maybe more people have woke up and just see what he is doing to the COuntry. [Lakota12]
This is just the starting point. I think he is young president and hope he will do better just wait for more days. The people of America has selected him, there would be some positive thing..I just think of the best. [airakumar]
