I wasn't sure if this really fit into this interest or not, but for lack of a better place here it is. I was hearing about this alleged attack on a McCain volunteer, yesterday. And I have a few questions.
So to be completely fair I am asking this in hopes that someone may have more info than I was able to find.
1) There weren't any eyewitnesses to this attack were there? I was searching and searching, yesterday, I don't know how many accounts I read on it. I know I read alot. All I had to type in was "B On Face" and I got pages of hits. So far I am seeing that she was alone at the time of the attack. Not to say she is lying but to give all sides and angles to this story we really must mention that she is the only source of evidence for the attack until they catch the guy who did this, correct?
2) Did they catch the person who allegedly attacked her?
3) Did anyone else see any other pics of it? The one I saw showed a backwards B on the right side of the ladies face.
4)I have heard that she might have carved it herself, has anyone else heard this? If she is righthanded, that's unlikely as she would have made it facing forward. Now to be fair, if she were lefthanded she would probably have done it backwards like that. Otherwise are we looking at a perpetrator who is dyslexic?
In all honesty I am not a supporter of Obama or McCain so I can come at this from a different perspective. I will look at all angles. I am truly concerned about stuff like this. And we must admit that all of this is just really getting out of hand.
If you are here to bash me, move on down the road. If you are here to discuss then please do so. There's no agreement or disagreement, with me, here as I am just a "questions asker".

How convenient that there were no witnesses, and it all took place outside the viewing range of the cameras. As for the cut - it's no more than a scratch. I've done worse to myself in my sleep with my own fingernails. Plus, the 'B' looks all neatly done. If you were fully awake and had someone trying to carve something into your face, you'd be fighting. There's no way the attacker could pull of such a clean looking letter (and so shallow too- no blood was even drawn). I believe this whole situation is a bunch of bologna dreamed up by an attention seeking 20 year old. Her story is inconsistent, her injuries are so minor they could easily be self inflicted, and the story reeks of an attempt at partisan bullsh*t. [Latrivia]

I live in Pittsburgh so if you think you heard about it you have NO clue!!! Its on every TV and Radio staion around!!! I feel bad for the girl either way weather she was really attacked or did it to herself she needs help. I didn't hear of any witnesses but here in Pgh even if there was I don't know that they would say any thing. No they didn't find the attacker. I haven't seen any other pics. If the perpetrator had done it with her on the ground and him standing above her head looking down on her his forhead to her chin then the b would make sense. I was the right way to him. I just think more would have been "carved" it didn't look like a very deep cut I would think some one would want it to be perminate. I answered this on two other discussions but I might as well have a go at yours! lol 1) No witnesses to the attack; she supposedly was out of range of the bank cameras, too. 2) No, they didn't catch anyone. 3) I only saw the one picture. The police did not take any pictures of it, and I don't know who took the one that is online. 4) I think she carved it herself. I think she did it in a mirror, hence the backward "B." I think she did it herself for whatever reason. Maybe she wanted attention. Maybe she wanted other people to think that Obama supporters are "bad." Who knows the reason? The picture shows a backward "B" - why a "B?" Why not an "O?" It's a neat carving; how would someone else get you to be that still and quiet while they carved a "B" on your face? And wasn't it nice of them to be so neat while they were so angry? It just doesn't add up. I don't believe a word of her story. I hope if she is lying, and I am sure she is, they prosecute her. I wonder if this is one of those stories that disappears. Everyone waiting for the results and they never happen. it is so strange with 24 hour news channels and all how fast the news moves. We never used to get so much detail and so little followup. Something else becomes the big story and we forget what was the big deal a couple of days ago. I know the last thing I'd expect when reporting a crime as a victim would be a lie detector test! So they had to have had some sort of suspicion. Per FOX NEWS her Myspace page has an entry that says (paraphrasing), "lying is the most fun a girl can have except for taking her Clothing off." She said that she was cut with a dull blade and she was treated first by a friend buying pet supplies, then went to the hospital for treatment. Police are looking to substantiate her claim. They're still investigating. She described her accuser as someone who already appeared in the news as someone who robbed a bank. Supposedly he robbed her, then saw her McCain bumper sticker, then proceeded to attack her. The police want her to take a polygraph test. View on the backward B: If she did it while looking in a mirror it would appear backwards. If an attacker was above her facing her legs and carved the B, it would ALSO appear backwards on her face. lolIrish, I have not seen this before but I am not surprise. In election time there will be alot of madness and there will be person who will try to seek attention. I doubt it that she is the person who have put it there but what one has to remember that there are facial make up that enable person to put whatever ones one on his/her face and it looks very real and if a specialist is not there to differentiate the difference then we will think that it is so. If she was attacked, I hope they find the guy and prosecute him with far more than assault. If she was not, I hope they prosecute her to the fullest extent of the law for filing a false police report. Around here, they charge the person with the full cost of investigating the allegations if it's proved that they filed a false report. If it is true, it's a sad statement on the level of hate that this entire campaign has generated among loose cannons on both sides. Have you yet caught the report about the woman who answered a random phone call asking her for whom she voted, & she said she was NOT voting for Obama (whom the caller supported) because of his 4-times voting in the state senate supporting the killing of babies BORN LIVE during a "botched" abortion, & that she "ought to find something better to do with (her) time?" Irish, I bought this story at first until I had the opportunity to look into it further. The girl is a McCain volunteer from Texas, who has taken time off from college to travel around the country, working the Phones and such, trying to get people to vote for McCain. Not that I see anything wrong with that, don't get me wrong, but in her initial report to the police, she didn't mention the bumper sticker and she waited 45 minutes before calling the police in the first place. That would have been the FIRST thing I would have done. The fact that the B is backwards and fairly neatly drawn makes me question this "attack". I heard about the incident and I saw three different articles about it. First I doubt anyone could carve themselves on the face or give themselves a black eye. Second as to witnesses, the B would have just been started before one of the witnesses grabbed the man who was doing it, or else they were all Obamamites and cheering. Third, bruising takes time, but with an eye it could be faster. Fourth, it may have happened a while ago, and she was in no shape to get a picture taken for the judge to verify the extent of her injuries and to sue the perpetrator. Fifth, to do it herself, she would have to freeze her face and that requires medical knowledge and ability to get the needle to freeze plus the solution. It also takes a while. When I had my biopsy and when I gave blood, the attendant first had to clean the section, sterilize it, daub it with cotton, and make sure that the place is clean. I would think she went to the doctor first to see whether she did not get an infection. [suspenseful]
Good point about the black eye. I didn't think of that as we were focusing on the B. So far they are not finding any witnesses nor has there been anything on cameras at the ATM where she reported the incident. Kids do crazy things. As one lady mentioned she knows, and I know as well, kids that have carved their boy/girl friends initials into their own skin. Kids are just weird. Hi Irish! Nice interesting avatar! I just read this article a little while ago and it said plain and simple that she admitted that she did herself and she lied! I knew it as I started reading it that she was lying before they even said it! But, she confessed that she made up the whole thing and they have proof that she never was at the ATM, there is no video and then she admitted that the whole thing never happened. What they are not releasing is why she did it! They are placing her under suveillance for observation, obviously there is something mentally wrong with her! So at this point they are not saying anything as to why she did this to herself, except that she did do it! She is a member of the McCain volunteer staff and apparently just moved to Pennsylvania two weeks ago. There's no suggestion that the national office knew anything about the lie - in fact, the stories I've seen very specifically state that there's no suggestion, either implied or direct, that the national office knew anything about the falsehood.
