Are You Registered To Vote

Its a simple question, if you are, good. If you're not, why not.

[question posted by gitfiddleplayer]responses and comments:

I am but I live in Australia & it's compulsary to vote once you reach 18 - you get fined if you don't register or don't vote! [toosh21]
Well thats good & the way it should be!! Way too many people go on about their rights, yet when it omes to voting they dont. No wonder countries are run by idiots. happy [LoudnProud]

Yes, I am registered. I consider it very important to vote. [vicneedscoffee]
It is, some people don't because they think it doesn't matter, but it does. [gitfiddleplayer]

Yes I am. I registered to vote the day I went and renewed my drivers license which was on my 18th birthday. I wasn't going to at first but I decided to go ahead and do it because then I wouldn't have to make another trip to register. [highflyingxangel]
Good thinking, who wants to go back to the DL office twice? [gitfiddleplayer]

Yes, I am registered to vote. [GodOfTheSurf]

Yes, I am registered to vote. I'd never miss the an opportunity to voice my opinion on something. [syeryn]
Welcome to myLot. You just did, thanks. [gitfiddleplayer]

Yes sure. It's my right. See the recent elections in Taiwan and Malaysia. You can see the power of the voters ! [curious888]
In the US its "by the people", politicians forget that sometimes. [gitfiddleplayer]

Yes always have been since I was eighteen years old and always vote too in local and general elections here in the UK. Ellie :D [ellie333]
Every vote counts, keep it up. [gitfiddleplayer]

No. I'm not registered. Politics and I just don't mix well. Since all of the back-stabbing, negative campaigning started, I decided that I wanted my vote to be counted as no vote at all. I just don't like the way politicians handle themselves in office. I'm talking about paybacks, payoffs, hand washing, etc. Politicians, as a whole, are corrupt and I want nothing to do with it. The only thing registering to vote got me was 6 jury duty notices from what seemed like astronomy instructors! LOL [mentalward]
If I had the energy, believe me, I would. My health prevents me from doing so much! *sigh* [mentalward]

I am registered to vote but most years I find I do not as I used to and then every year the party I wanted in would not get in so I stopped voting and also becuase now I find that they are all the same in tactics and policies and I don't have a preference anymore over which party is in so I do not think it makes a difference to me who is in power! [frankiecesca]
It makes a difference who's in power, you are, didn't you know that? [gitfiddleplayer]

I'm registered to vote. I've only used that once though. [k1tten]
Hopefully you'll use it twice by the end of this year. [gitfiddleplayer]

yes, i am registered. i think it is our duty to vote if we live in this country. Beisdes I always see the local politicians at the polls and I get a chance to touch base. [snowy22315]
Good point, seldom do you get to meet the person you are voting for, thanks. [gitfiddleplayer]

Ah Yes. I feel that if you do not vote then you do not have the right to complain when the government is not doing what you wished it would or when things go wrong. Whether you are doing wonderfully or terribly in this economy it is your duty to vote and try to get positive changes made by doing so. [sisterjinx]
Thank you, you're right. [gitfiddleplayer]

I am registered to vote, gitfiddleplayer. Honestly, I don't know why it even matters. [Transdisc]
It does matter, if you pass your right to vote and then its taken away, you can never get it back. I feel one day we won't have a choice, I don't want that to happen. Exercise your right. [gitfiddleplayer]

Yes, I am registered to vote, gitfiddleplayer. [dfn12968]
Good, thank you. [gitfiddleplayer]

Yes, I'm registered to vote [Crysi23]
Great! Pull the lever or push the button, not sure how it works where you're at. [gitfiddleplayer]

I am a registered voter. I am proud to say, that all three of my children, who are old enough, are also registered, and take advantage of the privilege. [fiona08]
hahahaha, I am just glad they all vote. Can't be sure who they'll vote for. (Although 2 of them are very vocally liberal, another source of pride for mom. ;) ) [fiona08]

Yes i am, and im happy to have the right to vote. I take my chance to give my opinion. Each time I can vote, I do. [julie85]

well im very much qualified to vote since im a registered one already and beyond the age of those underage citizen..i guess its our right to do so to participate on any elections...and choose whose the right and deserving officials...in our country..our vote counts a lot in making our future respective country's progress thru good mangement by government officials as if shopping for gastric sleeves to save in healthcare costs. [vanities]
So you know the importance of it, I'm glad for you. [gitfiddleplayer]

Darn right I am registered to vote!!! Why would I want to miss the chance to vote in an election, and have a say, getting my opinion ou there, as to how the countery where I live, will be run? Darn right I'm registered to vote. [danishcanadian]
Good, spread your infectious right to others around you. [gitfiddleplayer]

I am registered to vote and have been since I turned voting age. I have voted in just about every election since, primaries and general elections. I would have no business complaining about the way government is conducted (or not conducted) if I had had no voice in choosing those governing persons. I make it a point to stay informed on what my senators and representatives are doing and how they vote on the various issues. If I do not agree with them, I certainly let them know by phone, snail mail or e-mail. Without question, my most complaining has been done over the last 7 years. [yoyo1198]
With voting you get to have your say and then hold accountable the people who said they would honor your vote. [gitfiddleplayer]

yes i am a registered voter [shoffman2000]
Great! I saw from your website that you're a Paralegal. I was in that para profession for about 7 years. Best of in that field. [gitfiddleplayer]

Yes I am. It is very important to me to take an active role in our country and our government. [mehale]
It is, let your voice be heard. [gitfiddleplayer]

Yes, I'm registered to vote and I'm gonna vote....thats our priviledge... [walijo2008]
It is a priviledge and some people drag their feet to such an advantage, why is that? [gitfiddleplayer]

Yes Im a Registered to Vote in the November Primary, Hello Hillary. [mrgpk66]

I am in my Country and been exercising my right for a couple of elections already! [checapricorn]

i am not registered to vote :D while i think my vote can make a change, i really lack of people to vote LOL [jannijanni]
Its a hard choice, but try to make a decision so you can exercise your right. [gitfiddleplayer]

Definitely I has registered as a qualify voter. It is a responsibility of a citizen to carry out voting after he has reached his legal age to vote in the general election held in the term of every five years or shorter period here in my country. [lkbooi]

I am registered and I vote. I believe that if we exercise our right to vote then we, the people can make a difference. If we want somebody in the office, we vote for that person and if we don't want him/her in the office, we'll not vote for that person. We have the power to choose who will run our government. We should exercise it. [yanna1027]
Flex that muscle. [gitfiddleplayer]

Well yes, I believe that I am..confused [cream97]

Yes, I am registered, and I will be voting in the up coming election. [toledomark1975]
