Dean's Implosion
Now that Dean's campaign is sinking fast, many are blaming it on those who focused incorrectly on Dean's "I have a scream" speech. Granted the speech wasn't all that big a deal, but what it does represent though is the problem that is emblematic of Dean and his campaign: Foot-In-Mouth Disease. Long before the speech that so many are now ridiculing Dean for are many, many other instances of Dean gagging on his own foot:
- Dean suggests the President new about 9/11, but did nothing about it.
- Dean is supposedly anti-war, yet supported Biden-Lugar1
- Dean pronounced the DLC the Republican Wing of the Democratic Party.
- Dean's idiocy about Southerners with the Confederate flag in their trucks.
- When Dean said his favorite part of the New Testament is the book of Job...which is from the Old Testament.
- Calling the members of Congress Cockroaches probably wasn't good either.
- Dismissing the capture of Saddam Hussein.
- Yelling at an Iowa retiree who wanted Dean to stop mean-mouthing President Bush.
- A fiscal conservative who wants to get the government even more into the health care industry?
- His desire to repeal all of Bush's tax cuts, that is raise taxes on just about everybody.
- How about his dismissal of the Iowa Caucuses?
- Could it have been his off the cuff statement about regulating a huge portion of the U.S. economy?
--Via Larry Elder's essay which also has some funny Cox & Forkum Dean cartoons, so check it out.
If you are a Dean supporter, wake up and smell the coffee: Dean is never ever going to President. He just can't seem to keep his big mouth from running off and saying idiotic things.
_____
1Biden-Lugar woud have authorized the President to use force in Iraq.
