Al Sharpton: Economically Incoherent

My god. Reading the following excerpt from the Democratic Presidential Debates is...horrifying.

JENNINGS: Forgive me, Reverend Sharpton, but the question was actually about the Federal Reserve Board.

SHARPTON: I thought you said IMF, I'm sorry.

JENNINGS: No, I'm sorry, sir. And what you'd be looking for in a chairman of the Federal Reserve Board.

SHARPTON: Oh, in the Federal Reserve Board, I would be looking for someone that would set standards in this country, in terms of our banking, our -- in how government regulates the Federal Reserve as we see it under Greenspan, that we would not be protecting the big businesses; we would not be protecting banking interests in a way that would not, in my judgment, lead toward mass employment, mass development and mass production.

I think that -- would I replace Greenspan, probably. Do I have a name? No.

HUME: Thank you, Reverend Sharpton. Thanks very much.--link

Good. God.

Oh, give the buffoon a break, he's there more for comic relief than anything else.

It'll be interesting to see if he goes to MO to campaign. The congressional district for urban KC is open this year, and there's a lot of talk about former KC mayor Rev Emmanuel Cleaver running. They're like night and day, ethically.

No way should Sharpton get any breaks. It should be a high priority to out him as a buffoon and a race-baiting charlatan. Otherwise, legitimacy will be forfeited to him and he will become a true power broker. The African-American community desperately needs intelligent and articulate leaders to step up and halt the damage being done by their current leaders. African-Americans need leaders who won't be valued for the comic relief they provide or seen as some minstrel sideshow parody.

That was terrible. The two most interesting questions out of any of the Democratic debates this year, the Iran and monetary questions, were asked to the last relevant candidate who also gives the most incoherent answers.

What a disservice the moderators did to ask Rev. Sharpton those two questions when they should have been reserved for the front runners. I'm tired of the same questions coming up every debate. The panel had two unique ones, and they blew it.
