Master/Slave Rename Suggestion
I'm sure most people have heard of the issue in L.A. about renaming computer equipment currently designated as master/slave as something else. Frankly, I agree. We do need to rename these things. My suggestion is
Pimp/'Ho.

What happens next? As I discussed at xrlq, our most vigilant city will want a survey to determine whether the black wires inside their systems are somehow doing more menial things than the white wires, or if there are significantly more white than black ones.
And what of the "male-female" language used for connectors? Isn't this gender stereotyping of the worst sort? Certainly it is demeaning (and maybe confusing) to techs of a trans type gender.
Computer vendors may have dodged a bullet, but what of manufacturers of equipment that uses linchpins???
