DNC, Race, and Layoffs

Apparently the DNC decided it needed to downsize and picked 10 people. But the people they chose were all Black.

Larry Elder says, this represents everything that is worng with the Democratic Party. I'm not sure I agree with that, but it certainly high lights some problems with regards to race.

Lets suppose that these people were the least necessary for the DNC to operate, but because of people like Donna Brazile they cannot be laid off.

"I'm just outraged," said Donna Brazile, who served as Al Gore's campaign manager in the last presidential election and is also the chairwoman of the DNC's Voting Rights Institute. "They started reading me the names and I said 'Oh, oh -- they're all black. I went through the roof."'

I mean come on, are we to believe that the Democrats really are racists? So Brazile's outrage is misplaced. Further, it highlights a problem with people like Brazile. When something doesn't go well for blacks it must be racism. Otherwise why get "outraged" and "go through the roof" if it really is just letting go of those the DNC needs the less so that teh money can be used elsewhere.

Several black Democratic leaders were trying to arrange a meeting with DNC Chairman Terry McAuliffe to discuss the layoffs.

It isn't just Brazile it is most (perhaps all) black Democratic leaders.

And now the DNC has decided this was all a big mistake. "Oh, we didn't mean to fire only blacks." These people are so ready to racism, they will see it even amongst those that previously they had deemed "good" and "righteous".

How sad.
