Roger L. Simon on the N.Y. Times

Sure--as far that goes. But right now I'll save for my tears for African Pygmies in danger of being eaten rather than for journalists being bashed by their peers. There is a more important issue involved that people seem to be evading: No matter how reliable the Times is, who gave one newspaper the authority as the be all/end all of the media? Answer: we did. But should we stop? My answer: yes--and even if the Times does everything in its power to correct the problem, including firing its editor, sending its publisher to Mars and fumigating the place. It doesn't take Lord Acton to know they have too much power and now is the time to temper it.

Not much more you can say than that.

Update I: Roger's post on how to negotiate with Uday Hussein and his terms of surrender is a fun read too.
