An Apology To Republican Mylotters

I posted a discussion about the assassination plot on Obama being uncovered. In it, I made reference to the Republicans should be proud that the skinheads don't want Obama either. I must have had my head up my a$$ when I posted it, because many of you think I was trying to link the Neo-Nazis to the Republican Party, and that I believed many of you would back this plot. That was not my intention, and I am sorry if that is the message many of you got from my post. I know that no Republican (or anyone in their right mind) would support such an outrageous act, and I am sorry that I gave the impression otherwise. You may now proceed with the tar and feathers.blush

[question posted by myklj999]responses and comments:

I don't know...I read that discussion and did not reach that conclusion...how can anyone? lol Now, make sure your head is pulled out, don't want your head to miss the tar and feathers... rasp [fwidman]
Maggie...That tar might require an awful lot of peanut butter lol [fwidman]

mykl, I personally accept your apology. Yes, you did come off as you said. I was quite surprised coming from you. I know you can be a smart alec(sp?) but that is part of your charming character. You also are usually better with your words. Again thank you. leenie [leenie50]
Mykl, Thanks so much for the BR. Coming from you I especially appreciate it. leenie [leenie50]

It doesn't matter what we say these days or how we go about saying it mykl as there will always be people that will isolate some comment and twist and turn it into something completely unrelated. I didn't respond to your other discussion but I did read it and I certainly didn't get that impression either. I hope you have extricated said head from up your a@@ so you can stick your tongue out defiantly at all the wowsers! wink [James72]

While they are busy tarring and feathering ya, can I stick a dontkey's tail on your a$$? It's just a question. [thebohemianheart]
Bo..shame on you..you know he doesn't need any tail..hee heee [Rosekitty]

It's very nice of you to apologise, you wrote with emotion not reason and I am glad you cleared the misconception up. Thank you [savypat]

As conservative as I am, I never thought anything of the kind. Gives you a good idea how stupid this politically correct crap has become. I have never thought, nor did I think you thought, that this disgusting plot was condoned by ANYBODY civilized. That said, I think it's high time that people stopped wearing their emotions and widdle feelings on their sleeves. GROW UP PEOPLE!!!! [BCMike]

I'm glad you said that- because I wouldn't want anyone to make us Democrats look bad. We must respect everyone's political views, right? [Sheepie]
Don't worry no one will think that it is the Democrats point of view because we all know that Myklj is neither for the bottle nor the wash.happy [kerriannc]

It seems what you said did not imply the two skin heads was republicans,it seems If I remember corrector you said if they had carried out their plot in regard to Barack Obama assassinated that would make the republicains happy. I think this is why people got upset implying republicans would be happy about this. I don't know of any republican or any one for that matter being happy when president John F. Kennedy was assassinated or Bobby Kennedy,we was the American people of the United States. People of all walks of life deeply grieved,we that was alive remember the deep pain in our hearts and grave sorrow deep down in our souls over these two assassinations and we as a great county deeply grived for president Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy. Just the sad memories of these two great men, human yes sinless no,but two men that deeply loved their country and wanted what was good for the people of the United States of American. Far as skin heads, white supremacist,KKK,raceist these groups have been around what seems like for ever. William Ayers has just came out with his new book it is about his deep bitterness and hate towards the white race and in the injustice of the United States. Much of the same hate and bitterness millions viewed on television coming out of the Trinity church in Chicago leaded by the head pastor of the Thirty years Jeremiah Wright. Bill Ayers as most people know is a domestic terrorist who just two years ago during an interview stooped on the American flag. As long as bitterness and hate such as this is condoned it will only serve to breed even more bitterness and hate. This is a big historical election and if people will be honest their has been great injustice to our voting system all across the United States and American citizens have been intimidated, media threaten, private citizen personal information broken in to on government computers, private e mail accounts broken in to,this has been the most disgraqce election in our history. If this turns out to be our next leaders in the white house we may as well exsisit in a communist country. The republicans have been blamed from everything from A-Z this election and all others are hailed and spotless of any gulity in which in all honest they greatly bear the shame that our country is in. No one party or no one person created this outrageous mess we the people of the United States find our self's in today. It has came time party lines put aside and it is time that all Americans come together as we the people of the United States Of American protecting out liberty and freedom of speech,if we do not we are another Europe. I personally don't think any one in their right mind wants to see any assassination but reality tells most people it very well could happen to either canidate as these thing's are not the respector of the color of a person skin,it is the results of bitterness and hate in a persons heart. No tar or feathers just my sincere wish that American's will put aside party lines and come togeather for the betterment of our nation voting to keep us safe and free, a house divided will shall fall. [kennyrose]
It seems what you said did not imply the two skin heads was republicans,it seems If I remember corrector you said if they had carried out their plot in regard to Barack Obama assassinated that would make the republicains happy. You should go read it again, and pay some attention to where commas are placed; But the Republicans should be proud that the Skinheads think Obama should not be President, although instead of votes, they would rather stop it by stopping him permanently. The first part of this statement is what I referred to. Perhaps I should have used a semi-colon to seperate it instead of a comma. I was in no way trying to state the Republicans would be happy to see him dead. And you jumped all over me, bad mouthing me and trying to say all kinds of crap I didn't say. [myklj999]

awwww...come ere and gimme a hug ya big lug! wub [sndcain36]

Apology gratefully accepted. Thanks for your courage in making this discussion, No tar or feathers from me, I also recently had to make a correction to something I'd posted at mylot. You know what they say: Pobody's Nerfect [MSV1313]

I guess I missed this one Mike, oh well, don't forget to vote next Tuesday everybody. [gitfiddleplayer]

Hell I didnt take it like that either. Of course republicans and killings, democrats and killings hmmm hmmm hmmm hmmm they all do it, just not by using skin heads lol. [darkjedi]

Myk, you're forgiven. No need for an apology. I didn't take your discussion to mean that you were "with" the Neo-Nazis or that you'd think that you associated the Republican Party with them. I did not get that message at all ... but what the hell ... after a couple of Natural Lights I might not "get the message" at all. I just know that you're not that sort of person. It's been said that one of my replies to the Neo-Nazi actions made it appear that I "condone" their actions. NOT SO! It seems that some people on mySnot don't READ. They see ONLY what they want to see. So, Myk, I don't sweat the small stuff. Small minds think small. Memo to self: So what makes YOU so great, RJ? Well, at least I'm FAIR. (C) 2008 RJScott [rjscott]

I didn't reach that conclusion but I saw that some others did. But then I"m not a Republican! [dawnald]
Well, it's really just that having BEEN blamed by many as being like NAZIs or skinheads, Republicans have an understandable right to be a bit gun shy, it seems to me. Still, as I know who I AM, people's misconceptions about my political beliefs don't generally bother me. That's on a PERSONAL level, however. When I feel someone is attacking good =candidates= in such a scurvy way, I pull out all the stops to defend the candidate. Note that I DIDN'T do so in mkl's case. That's because I didn't think that's what he had in mind. All I'm saying, though, is that if anyone DID think he meant it that way, I couldn't blame them for getting upset. It's been the case so OFTEN! Maggiepie [Maggiepie]

Hi myklj999, Oh, mykl I fully understand what you were saying and I won't dream of putting feathers and tar on you head as it doesen't become you. I do know what you were getting at so no need to apologies. Tamara [tamarafireheart]

hi myklj999 i didnt get that impression but then i am not a republican either. lol I really shouldnt have said that 'here as thats a way to get a nasty shot from the republicans that are out to get any democrat here in mylot, 'home of the political debaters. oh and I did vote for obama so please forget the minus keys as it is my right to vote for whom I please. and I do not disrespect all the republicans at all. we all should vote for whom we really want and not let others sway us. [Hatley]
I don't give minuses as a sign of disagreement. In fact, I've rarely given minuses at ALL. Rather I give PLUSSES to ANYONE, especially so when someone's post riles me up, as it gives me the opportunity to debate with them! This is what MAKES MyLot FUN, IMO! Maggiuepie [Maggiepie]

Never got any impression you were after anyone since i know you aren't for either..so no need to be tarred or feathered unless you want to feather my pillows...rasp [Rosekitty]

Ya know myk, I think you could start a discussion about how american apple pie is and someone would wind up being offended. It doesn't take much. [Lee_Rites]
Thanks. I've been a bit sick lately so I haven't been posting much. Wasn't really in the mood for the controversy over nothing. I usually can't resist checking in on your discussions though. And it was a pretty nice day to day. I'm looking forward to trick or treating with the kids on Friday. Hopefully it will be a nice night. Take care. [Lee_Rites]

YIKES..I must have missed that discussion somehow...That was a mighty big OOPS, huh? [mibngold]

thank you for that i did feel that way and what makes a person really good is when they are able to say sorry things i say sometimes come out wrong also and i think boy i have really done it now but none of us are perfect i often have to apologize for something that came out wrong [dawyka3]

I guess I havent gotten to that discussion in my inbox yet I am surprised and somewhat disappointed over this apology so what you may have hurt somebodies precious little feelings they can just get over it maybe now they will tar and feather me too LOL [zukepr]

Did hell freeze over or something? lol Just in shock that you apologized not that it is a bad thing by any means. Glad that you were able to pull your head from being surrounded by poo just don't let it happen again. Anyone in their right mind? Don't you mean anyone who has a mind at all? [razcal2267]

well people make mistakes its the way of the world and im sure you are being very heart felt about what your saying and i would like to say that just because the skinhead what obama dead dont mean the reds want him dead lol i know i dont im a blue and i would like to see him in office very badly ok moving on sometimes people can go to far but sould you feel bad forever no you need to move on and keep doing what you do best [big_paparoch]

Apology accepted. In all my years I have never seen an election like this one. I think many people feel like I do. They are afraid because they know that if he wins it will not be a good thing. He is much to young for the job and much to inexperience. Even Biden weather subconsciously or not knows this. I think he is trying to prepare us for the coming bad times. God help America. [patms1]

Apology accepted and you are forgiven as far as I'm concerned. [bestboy19]

No tar. Birds may keep their feathers. I DID think SOME might think you'd deliberately made the connection, as others HAVE tried to make the connection BEFORE, but as I'm comfortable with being who I am, a staunch Republican, what others think about ME doesn't bother me. And since _I_ knew that the neo-NAZI skinheads have no part to play with us, it didn't get ME riled. But you did take a risk, given the history of those who HAVE been lumped together with those morons. No harm, no foul. No sweat...THIS time. You only get one of these, however..../o) Maggiepie [Maggiepie]

hi Mykl. I saw the discussion, I dont think you have to apologise, considering some of the flak you took, I mean some people started insinuating from the get go, and there was very little in your post establishing a link! Tar an feather the Obamabots and the Mc'cain Missionaries. [jimbomuso]
oh and the people who were kicking off about it inferred a connection all by themselves. There are so many people wanting to defend their worldview they'll pounce on anything! [jimbomuso]

I think it's great of you to apologize! I'm a Democrat and I see all kinds of posts where people characterize democrats as lazy bums who don't work and just want a handout (as per the infamous Joe the Plumber) -- since my whole family has worked hard all our lives I get upset by that. Oh, and those of us voting for Obama worship a messiah and are in a cult. However, I never see anyone apologize for saying those things. So when I see someone apologize for the way they phrased something, I am totally impressed. Way to go, myklj! [MoonlightSerenade]

I ordered the feathers, but the tar is on back order!lol Jes kidding! Actually, per usual, I was oblivious to the whole thing.. I'm really beginning to wonder just how much stuff I actually go around missing on a day to day basis.. [flowerchilde]

I have understood your clarification. It is sad that people resort to violence to make themselves heard. I am against all violence of any sort whomever does it. I think that there are other ways to win an argument. © ronaldinu 2008 [ronaldinu]

Honestly I did not think that you viewed anyone who was registered, debated on voting for Rep, or plan to vote Rep thought that it would make them connected to the skinheads...but it was the simple fact that you mentioned the two and others who are not as conscious of being able to separate the two topics would splice them together, in other words my comment about contributing to the slander. To me it was obvious from reading your past posts that you would not lean this way, but we all have to be careful about how we word such sensitive topics. I myself have fallen into the spin of things and even been accused of thinking one way when in actuality I wasn't. But there is no need to tar and feather. And it is hard to not make side comments when posting things. But it does say alot about you as a person who makes a post like this. Have a great day. [taface412]

Wow, I remember that discussion and I didn't think that was - what you meant. I didn't quite like the "Republicans should be proud" reference just because of how it sounds. I agree that it was an outrageous act, and am sure that no matter how much Republicans seem to hate Obama right now, they would never ever agree with or find any kind of joy in this type of plot or assassination. [quinnkl]
